Have you ever tried to worship God, yet your mind only hears the music or a chaotic stream of humanistic thought? Does this happen more often than you wish and you find that it is taking away from being fully available to God, as a friend? Do you find yourself grabbing hold of any good feeling possible from the melody in order to bring comfort---- searching for some sort of resemblance of peace for life's circumstances? Sometimes you may even start to listen like its a concert, where you start breaking down whether the musicians are doing well enough----
This type of thing is a commonstruggle among Christians, and when we are trying to worship God and be fully available to Him and His leading, we have to see with clarity the motives in our hearts and minds. We need to learn to recognize the patterns, so that we can have a quality friendship with Christ---that grows continually.
"Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him. Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness." - 1 Chronicles16:29 ESV
